Fort Bend Silver Democrats win a nice victory

Last night and this morning, I got a couple of e-mails from the Sugar Land Democrats and the Fort Bend Silver Democrats about a GOP event with Pam Geller. Some protests were being organized and we were not going to let this hatemonger appear in our part of the country without some protests. Here is the e-mail that I just received from Susan Bankston who runs the Fort Bend Silver Democrats

Silver Democrats,

We have just received a call from the Sugar Land Hyatt Hotel saying they have canceled the event with Pamela Geller that I contacted you about this morning. Explaining that they did not know her reputation when the Republicans made the reservations, the Hyatt Hotel is refusing to hold the event on their property once they discovered the hate filled message Ms. Geller delivers.

If you want to call the Hyatt Hotel and thank them for celebrating diversity instead of allowing this woman to speak on their property, you can call them at 281-491-0300. Mike Gleeson is the general manager of the hotel. You might also keep the Hyatt in mind when you travel, knowing that they will not allow hate mongering at their hotels.

I think this is an excellent example of what happens when we stand together against racial hate and for tolerance in our community.

I will let you know if the event is transferred elsewhere.
