DeLay announcing he's moving to Virginia.
How lucky can we get. As if we need yet another RW nutjob calling Virginia his/her home. What is it about our state that seems to attract them all?

1. Sorry, Virginia
Watch him VERY closely. He'll be concocting anti-American crap with buddy Grover before you can spit.

2. I Hope His Friend Rep. Eric Cantor
is helping him. Maybe that's our way to rid ourselves of Cantor in the 7th district.

3. You are so right on.
I wish the Dems would work up the money and backbone to back a strong electable candidate to run against Cantor. He and his wife have been feeding at the public trough long enough IMO.

5. Me too.
I know there are decent folks out there who would be so good for us as compared to him. If only the support from the dems would come. Ther Democratic party gives up so easily.

13. Maybe now with Dean's 50 state strategy we can get someone
to run against him in '08. He's vile & his staff is downright rude. Guess they figure with 70% of the vote, the rest of us can kiss off. I'd love to have a viable candidate run against him!

4. I know why he is changing his legal residence to Virginia.....
Because very soon he will be a resident at the Federal Correctional Complex in Petersburg, VA.

Here is some info for anyone who wants to visit him.

8. Dunno for sure.
The story on TV this morning indicated he was going to move permanently into his condo located in VA - commonsense would tell me that's probably in Moran's district in terms of commuting, but I haven't heard for sure where that's located. Maybe they should impose the kinds of restrictions on him they do on the sex offenders, notify the neighbors that there's a crook in their midst.

12. Washington Post story said it's in Alexandria -
which I believe is still Moran's district (there was some redistricting a couple of years ago after I'd moved to Richmond)

17. Is he in the part of Fairfax County with an Alex address?
That might be Tom Davis' 11th District.

I don't want him in VA either. He has to leave Texas to get his name off the ballot. Send him back home to Texas after the November election. He doesn't have a reason to be here then.

18. Congressional district map.
http://dlsgis.state.va.us/ArcIMS/Website/unfilledHB18Enrolled/viewer.htm?Title=House%20Bill%2018%20Enrolled

The 8th (Moran-D), 11th (Tom Davis-R), and 10th (Frank Wolf-R) are good examples of gerrymandering. The 8th concentrates Dems so we can be diluted in the 10th and 11th. There is one street (Talisman) in Vienna that looks like only one address with a long driveway is in the 11th and the rest of the street is in the 8th.

The 8th takes up most of the city of Alexandria and Arlington County. It then follows the Dulles toll road out to Reston to concentrate this progressive planned community with the Hybla Valley area of Fairfax/Alexandria.

It is worth trying to navigate the interactive map to see some of the boundaries.
