Dear Friend,

This Saturday, I’ll be discussing the issues with my opponent at a candidate forum at the Kempsville Public Library. I’m excited—excited to have an opportunity to challenge my opponent on real issues that affect the people of the Second District, excited to be able to stand up for positive change and offer a clear contrast between myself and the failed politics of the sordid mess in Washington.

Please join me for a pre-debate rally this Saturday at 1:15 at the Kempsville Neighborhood Park—right behind the library. Together, we’ll show my opponent that the people of this district are ready and eager to wage a tough campaign for an independent, common-sense voice in Congress. 2. Update: Phil Kellam Rawks!

Very good turn out for Phil, even some Webb supporters were there to lend support.

Met a lady from the Virginia Beach Democrats which looks like they're picking up steam for these very two competitive races in the VA-02 (Kellam and Webb). More information on their meetings at www.vbdemocrats.com

Phil did very well against a seasoned professional politican who spewed RW talking points from memory (fear, terror, fear, 9-11, terror...you know the drill!).

With hopes highlights will be in the Pilot tommorrow, which will probably be better written than I can do. The event hosts were very gracious, though overwhelmed by the HUGE KELLAM turnout squished into a small (and hot) meeting room at the K'ville Library.

Great fun, and thanks to DUer Calliope for coming with me, though she doesn't live in this district :hi:

Nice, non-partisan article from page A-1 :toast: Yes, well-written but will just snip the last Kellam quoted paragraph, which should just sum up Thelma in a Bush'lickin'heartbeat :)

Kellam said Drake's overall voting record is what matters.

"You know, if somebody agrees with you 98 percent of the time and you are having a serious discussion, one of you doesn't need to be there," Kellam said.
