EEE!!! People in Whatcom County!!
Hey...I live in Ferndale (or FernHELL or Ferntuckee, depends on what you wanna call it) and I was driving on Axton Road and someone has a BUNCH of signs posted up on their house that say: "SEE THE MOVIE!" (I'm assuming they mean F911), "ANYBODY BUT BUSH!" and "VOTE THAT SON OF A BITCH OUT!"...I didn't get to read them all but I could literally go up and kiss the owners of that house. Anyone seen it??

I have been seeing more and more Kerry stickers and signs here in rural hell too!!! I'm SO happy to see it! FINALLY!!! I thought I never would see anything BUT Bush/Cheney signs and stickers!!

1. Yeah, I get the feeling that washington won't be as close as people think.
Driving through eastern washington last week, along I-90, I saw plenty of republican yard signs, maybe about 20 or so groups large enough to catch my eye (though I was looking). Among those, there were only TWO bush signs! The lack of signs for bush/haliburton was quite telling...

2. Agree
I visited my sister in Ephrata 3 weeks ago. When I commented about seeing several Kerry-Edwards signs on the eastside of the mountains she said * has angered a lot of people.

3. Wow. When I was on my way to SeaTac last month
Edited on Tue Sep-21-04 02:45 AM by shingashong
on a shuttle bus, I didn't see ONE Kerry sign. All Bush/Cheney. I was shocked!!! Even in what I thought was liberal Seattle- but then again I didn't see ALL of Seattle...so that's not real fair to say.

My hubby said he saw one out in the county yesterday- and wanted to take me by it because it was a HUGE Kerry poster. He knew that would totally lift my spirits. :)

ETA: I really hope you're right about it not being close and Kerry taking the state. I am HOPEFUL!!!!!

4. hey neighbor, I used to live in Ferndale!
my mom still does and I always feel so...foreign when I go there, no Kerry signs in sight, just huge * signs, plus I used to live a few blocks from Gene Goldsmith (a local rep, the one who raised a huge flak about the gay "Lifestyle" tasteful photo display in Olympia a few years ago) and they always had huge repuke candidates signs all over, had to pass it nearly every day bleaah.

Thanks for the good news, I'm going up there next week and will check it out, yaay!

5. It's hard to see
but if you're driving down Axton (as if you are heading towards rural hell (Northwest Rd that is), past McDonald's, drive down and on your right just past a person on the right who has a Bush/Cheney sign and across the street there's a person with Kerry signs, you'll see an older house that has big signs posted on their house (porch?). There are many of them. If you get the chance to check it out let me know what the rest say.

I seriously could go up to that person and hug them.

Have a great time coming back to Ferntuckee! ;) I'm semi-new here, been living here almost a year now.

8. was in Ferntuckee yesterday..
and didn't make it to check out the Axton house, bummer, but did see at least 6 Kerry signs over a mile of Vista dr. and not a single Bush sign, just (huge) one on Grandview, near the Vista intersection, and a huge one at the Goldsmith's house on Church, of course, but also a huge Kerry sign a block south on Church! what an uplifting sight!!

6. There is a house
on the corner of 185th & meridian in shoreline that looks like freep central. The owner was whining to John Carlson about all of the paint and stuff that had been splashed on it and how he had to get a video camera to catch the kids that were doing it.

7. I just sold ten 8x4 foot Kerry Edwards signs to Whatcom Co Dems
They're picking them up tomorrow.

Where they'll be placed, I do not know, but things are looking up!

How much are bumper stickers and a sign I can put in my window?

Let me know via PM please!!!

Are you part of a dem. org here in WC?? I would like to join one.

Let me know! :)

Yes, things are REALLY looking up. If you ever feel up to it, there are more signs out in county than ever. Seen some on Pole and even Meridian (towards Lynden). YAY!!!
