Please join me in offering Darcy Burner sincere condolences....
Apparently there was a fire today that damaged Darcy's home. Thank God no one was injured. Darcy, I am so sorry this happened to you, and hope that you are able to recover some family treasures. Hopefully, you will be able to re-build, that is a sweet spot on the lake there.

2. such a shame, so glad she and her family are ok

physically at least. she seemed composed and strong on the news, and it was obvious she'd been crying, who wouldn't be? a housefire is one of the most devastating things that can happen to people, I guess if she can get through that this election will seem like a cakewalk! we need her in 2009 and beyond, and she needs us right now.

3. Sad news.
I'm glad her family made it out okay, but sorry to hear about their cat. I heard on the news that it might have been caused by a faulty night light. (?)

4. I read about that today.
Damn, that sucks, but I'm glad the family is all right (physically anyway...emotionally is a different story).

I was sad when I read about the cat though. :-(

5. Just read about it here.

Very sorry to hear that. Wish her family the very best. Been fallowing the arson fire in the news where there were three deaths., family's were left homeless,a apartment building.

Indeed,very sad.

After having reviewed the article I had to wonder how it might be in the congress after the elections. I think some members of congress are going to feel as if everything went up in smoke.

She's a tough Gal,she'll come back strong.

6. Darcy's statement

Suggestions for donations included--not her campaign, but that wouldn't hurt either.

7. Can onyone provide housing for Darcy's out of state volunteers?
As you know, we're picking up several out of town volunteers and staff over the next few days. We need a place for them to stay for a couple of weeks until they get their feet under them. It's pretty easy on the hosts. They only need a bedroom and a key. If you know anybody who'd be able to open up a spare bedroom, we'd be greatly appreciative. There's a particular need in the Auburn/Renton/ Kent area.

Thank you.

8. Has there been any word as to the cause of the fire?
When progressive candidate's homes suddenly catch fire in the middle of the night, I get a bit suspicious.

9. I think the fire dept. determined there was a short in a wire in
her son's room.

I believe they ruled out arson, but like you, that was the first thing I thought of when I heard.
