Ken Schram Commentary: Meet The King Of Hysteria Lane
November 22, 2004 By Ken Schram
SEATTLE - Chris Vance can be such a bonehead.
As head of the State Republican Party, Vance has been spouting off about how he thinks there is a partisan conspiracy afoot in King County.
He's gone so far as to call King County's Election Superintendent a "political hack", and contends the guy actually 'ordered' some Dino Rossi ballots not to be counted.
Having lost a court fight to stop the King County recount in its entirety, Vance went on a verbal tirade that defies logic and law.
He got his GOP BVD's in a bunch over election workers filling out replacement ballots based on how those workers determine who someone intended to vote for.
Now personally, I think if someone's not smart enough to follow simple voting instructions, they're not smart enough to be voting in the first place.
But that's not what the law says.
And the law says the recount in being done correctly and fairly, points supported by most, including the Secretary of State who, by the way, is a Republican.
There are other nits that Vance has been picking at.
None of them amounting to anything that's got anyone other than Vance irate.
Which just goes to show: Chris Vance can be SUCH a bonehead.
