State's voters split on 2004 Presidential race
This poll sounds like a load of bullshit. Most people I know despise Bush. Plus I live in Snohomish County not Seattle.

The early stages of the presidential race is a dead heat in Washington, with 44 percent of Washington residents supporting President George Bush and 45 percent saying they would vote for Democrat challenger Sen. John Kerry, according to a poll by Moore Information, a public-opinion research firm based in Portland, Ore.

Four percent of the respondents supported third-party candidate Ralph Nader, while the remaining 7 percent of voters were undecided.

Moore Information surveyed 500 Washington voters between June 9 and June 11. The poll's sampling error margin is plus or minus 4 percent, making the polling results for Bush and Kerry too close to call.

1. The article is trying to spin it for Dumbo
but if you read this bit: "The city of Seattle, however, is strongly for Kerry, by a 77 percent to 12 percent margin" it makes a bit more sense. Obviously, the 500 people they surveyed weren't in Seattle - and the greater Seattle area has 90% of the state's population. This state hasn't gone for a Republican in about 800 years.

I like the way their site updates links, too - if you look at the Related Stories link on the right-hand side, they're all links to articles for the 2000 election. :eyes: LAME.
