Will the Patient Abandonment Bill jeopardize an HPV vaccine?

I wrote about this for FightingBob.com today (http://www.fightingbob.com/guestblog.cfm?PostID=1414) and on my site.

As has been discussed here and elsewhere, the fundies are grumbling about the new HPV vaccine because it will supposedly encourage pre-marital sex. :eyes: Pray for virginity, expose your daughter to unnecessary health risks. Yippee.

So can doctors now refuse to vaccine against a deadly condition because said condition is acquired mainly through (even protected) sex?

The mind boggles.

1. The human papilloma virus (HPV) has been killing/maning women

for decades, Now that we have a chance to prevent it, we have the Right saying stupid fearful stuff. and the sad thing it that people listen!

2. Since the Patient Abandonment bill operates on fiction, not fact

I can't imagine it wouldn't jeopardize someone's desire to get the HPV vaccine for themselves or their daughter. There doesn't have to be proof of anything to support someones hairball ideas of ethics.

Now if it is discovered that the HPV vaccine prevents prostate cancer, it would no doubt become a manditory vaccination for five-year-old males and probably be free.
