1. I hope your right, Class Warrior
I really think Gwen Moore is the best choice but I don't live in the district.

Have you heard any numbers in the race?

2. Nope. I haven't heard any numbers.
But I'm seeing lots of lawn signs on the north side. It's the south side where we're really going to have to hustle.

3. Interesting tidbit in J/S recently on Carpenter, another wayward Milw cop
Twenty-three-year-old Jeremy Gonzalez, who joined the Milwaukee force less than a year ago, meaning he's still on probation, got himself arrested Saturday night for pushing state Sen. Tim Carpenter. Yup, the same Tim Carpenter who is running for Congress.

Aim high, young officer.

According to Sgt. Ken Henning and a Carpenter campaign spokesman, the trouble started at about 11:30 Saturday night in the 2900 block of S. 38th St., where both the senator and the officer live. It seems that the off-duty officer kicked over a Carpenter campaign sign that was planted on the politician's front lawn. Everyone agrees that the cop didn't have a clue that the guy whose name appeared on the sign was the same guy who lived in the house.

Still, kick over a pol's sign on his own property and it's a gimme that the candidate will appear.

"Carpenter confronted the off-duty officer (and said): 'Why are you destroying my sign?' " Henning said. "Words were exchanged. The verbal altercation turned into a physical altercation.

4. I saw that on the news...
Bizarre. And another reason why the MPD has such a sterling reputation.

Tim's one of the good guys. He's my second choice.

5. By the way, I scanned, sized, and uploaded it myself...
...which is an accomplishment for me. And if any of you wants to link to it for your own avatar, you're DEFINITELY welcome.

6. Gwen Moore rocks all
I talked with her at the Convention briefly and she was the nicest lady, I loved her...

She has a real welfare mother background to go with her success story afterwards and that's exactly what we need in Congress... someone who understands what the working poor go through.

I like Carpenter, but I really hope Gwen wins. :)
