Laura Bush is coming to Wausau this Thursday
We don't know where or when, but we'll find out.

They are having an invite only for 500 women, isn't that pathetic that they have to be a secret cult.

3. In addition to loyalty oaths, I hear they are going to make you swear
you don't have a family member who was killed in Iraq in order to get in.

8. Wausau Dem office
The Dem office is at 201 Forest St. It is hard to get to because of road construction but it can be done. It is south of the Wausau Mall and on the same street as the Post Office.

5. Someone should ask her about Sue Niederer, "Gold Star Mother"
previous DU thread:

If anyone can get a picket sign within sight of this genteel tea party, that is.

What would be most wonderful of all is if one of the attendees would bring it up. I'm sure that if Republican mothers knew about the heartless way Sue Niederer was arrested they might have a few questions. Some advance publicity to sources of likely invitees, if it could be done, might help sow the seeds of inquiry.

11. GREAT!!!!!
We had 40 people (I count at events, when possible, so the press gets it right) We were told to move off the sidewalk and around the corner - out of sight out of mind. BUT the people that owned the house directly across from the front door of the Boys and Girls club let us stand on their property. There are some wonderful people in the world aren't there. Since we were now on private property the police left us alone. When Laura Stepford got there the secret service SUV got between us and her limo to protect her delicate eyes, they didn't get it right on the way out. She waved to us, the windows were heavily tinted but I think she used all her fingers when she waved at us.
One class act of an elderly "gentleman" flipped us off as he exited the building. Others yelled four more years. One young women (who should be in Iraq or at least enlisted if she supports bush) tried to argue with one of the young women that was with us. When she couldn't back up her charges her daddy tried to jump in and save her - that didn't work either and they walked away in disgust. Two heavy set, average looking women walked by saying loudly "that Heinz is an ugly bitch" None of the stepfords supporters had anything to say about her speech just about her looks and demeanor.
We countered with "four more years of bush are scary, vote for jobs vote for Kerry", "W stands for Wrong" (which the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel got wrong) "Kids need Kerry" with a smattering of "4 more months"

Proud to know ya, Goddess!

Good job! I can imagine in the early days of this country, you would have been one of those standing on Concord Bridge!

13. Terrific!
I'm really pleased to hear how well it went! :toast: :bounce:
You had a good turnout and a good place to stand, too. :toast: :bounce:
I'm impressed with you all. :toast: :bounce:
As for the hecklers: for a party that likes to pretend how holy and righteous they are, they certainly can behave like white trash -- or maybe brown shirts.
Keep up the good work. :toast: :bounce:
