Great Midwest Marijuana Harvest Festival
It is on Saturday at noon in Madison. My husband and I are going. We went last year and it was all rather moving. If you believe in marijuana legalization, including medical marijuana, this is a good event to attend.

1. Oh man, and I'm stuck in Utah.....
Why can't something like this ever happen over here. I need it plenty for medical and mental reasons. How long has this been happening (if you attended last year)?

4. It's been held annually in Madison for over 10 years
Probably more than 15 years.

2. This really is a very important issue
I met a lady not too long ago who is active in the medicinal marijuana movement. She suffers from MS, and she told me quite eloquently that smoking marijuana is the absolute best thing she can do to relieve the pain.
It's inhumane to deny her the right to use marijuana as medicine. For crying out loud, doctors can prescribe morphine for pain, but they can't prescribe marijuana? Absolutely inhumane...

3. This is what really moved me
A few people with serious illnesses spoke about how much it has helped them as well as how they were raided and treated like criminals. It is bad enough that marijuana is illegal at all. It is evil that sick people are being arrested for using a substance that greatly improves their quality of life without harmful side effects. After taking some of the medicines out there that are regularly prescribed, this doesn't make sense to me at all.
