Priebus leads Steele in race for GOP chairman
The election for chairman of the Republican National Committee is on Friday and some of the focus is on front-runner Reince Priebus, a lawyer and chairman of the Wisconsin GOP.

In the latest whip count, Priebus has the committed support of 38 RNC members -- more than a third of the way toward the 85 votes needed to win -- according to a tally by National Journal's Hotline. He's followed by incumbent chairman Michael Steele with 17 commitments.

The chairmanship is crucial as Republicans try to defeat President Obama, win control of the Senate and keep their majority in the House.

Steele's tenure since 2009 has been rocky: the national Republican Party is in debt and he's had to walk back comments such as saying Afghanistan is a "war of Obama's choosing." Priebus was the RNC's general counsel under Steele and resigned to run for the top job.

During a debate among the candidates, Steele did not minimize the party's problems but he pointed out "we won" in November, as Republicans took back control of the House, narrowed the Democratic majority in the Senate and elected a host of new governors, including in states such as Ohio that are key in presidential campaigns.

1. Priebus won...now what?
What can we expect? What do you all think?

I don't know but suspect this news is definitely not good. Steele was a gift for us.

2. If it is like his Osama/Obama flap, means a very wingnut term
Good for The Daily Show, and a embarrassment for the RNC.
