Immigration Minister Monte Solberg Keynote Speaker at CPJ Annual Meeting, Wednesday, May 31
OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - May 29, 2006) - Citizens for Public Justice brings its Welcome the Stranger: Becoming Neighbours initiative to Ottawa, May 31. The initiative is aimed at creating a more welcoming climate in Canada for newcomers, particularly refugees. Immigration Minister Monte Solberg will be the keynote speaker. A panel discussion will ensue.
Panelists:
- Dr. Hamdi Mohamed, executive director of Ottawa Community Immigrant Services
- Mr. Joe Gunn, former Director of Social Affairs, Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, parishioner at St. Joseph's parish in Ottawa which is supporting Maoua Diamonde in sanctuary.
- Mr. Harry Kits, executive director of Citizens for Public Justice.
