CBC: France asked U.S. about Khadr: WikiLeaks
French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner asked the United States for "assistance" with Omar Khadr in 2009 even as Canada declined to intervene on the Canadian Guantanamo Bay prisoner's behalf, according to secret documents published by the WikiLeaks website.

More to come

1. Harper Will
Be having a tantrum now! Did the request come from someone withing the PC party, or someone outside that has a direct line to France? Harper will be looking under his bed tonight.

The leaked U.S. State Department cable details Kouchner's first bilateral meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Feb. 5, 2009, during which Clinton called the detention centre in Cuba a "cancer" the U.S. wanted to "take care of."

The cable notes that Kouchner, at the end of the discussion on Guantanamo Bay, handed Clinton "a paper concerning Khadr, who was described as "a 15-year old Muslim of Canadian origin."

"The Secretary agreed to review the case," the cable notes.
