A report of a bus bombed outside Queensway, London?
I have seen this reported on a subscription-only bbs this evening. Happened about an hour ago -

"an explosion outside Queensway station, ... a bus with its roof ripped off in the road."

but I can't find anything about it on the news web sites. Thanks, Tony Blair.

1. well, here's hoping it ain't so.
but on the other hand bushco and blair have created some very determined enemies -- but will they pay the price for their stupidity and crimes?

not while we can pay instead.

6. Update: bus hit a tree, roof ripped off
Was not misled, exactly.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/london/4310434.stm

The roof of a bus was ripped off when it hit a tree branch while following a diversion on Tuesday evening.

Three people were taken to hospital with minor injuries after the crash in Bayswater, west London.

Up to 20 people were on the number seven bus and Inverness Place remained closed for more than three-and-a-half hours, Scotland Yard said.

Officers from Paddington police have begun an investigation into the cause of the crash.

The bus hit the tree at about 2030 BST.

The road was reopened at about midnight.

Bayswater Tube station was also closed for about 20 minutes.

The person who posted about it on the bbs I mentioned was relaying the report from his daughter, who heard what she called "an explosion" and then saw that the bus roof was torn off. In these times, hers was a natural conclusion to jump to!

7. I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to snark.
It's an entirely natural assumption to make.

8. Why do trees hate us?
Not content with throwing leaves onto railway lines, the buggers are attacking buses now!

11. Not so hasty!
This tree was obviously guilty: I've heard that (a) it's brown, and (b) it was wearing an unseasonably large quantity of leaves.

12. Yes but ...
... why didn't the bus act earlier? Why did it wait all that time
before running into the branch if it was "under orders" all the way
from the depot?

What if the tree was Special Branch?
