3. I only found out on Monday
There wasn't much media build-up to this, probably because it was only a friendly match.

6. It doesn't
help if the keeper gifts the opposition 2 goals... :-(

As long as we beat the Taffs next month, I'll be happy ;-)

9. I never really got over that bad day in Leon in1970
so I am afraid that the failures or triumphs of the modern England football team leave me cold. I suppose I am just old fashioned but I hate the fact that the soccer season now starts half way through an Ashes cricket series. Can't we have a few months without Rooney, Beckham and all the other over paid and over hyped footballing bores being rammed down our throats.

10. Yeah but that's as much to do with
all those dreary one-day internationals, and ludicrous mismatches with Bangladesh pushing the Ashes back towards the end of the summer (actually it looks like summer ended here at about half past two this afternoon).

11. Thank the Good Lord I was born in Scotland.
It means I can abandon the national side whenever I want and pretend that watching Braveheart has reinvigorated me with a spirit of Celtic rebellion.
