Will any member of Congress challenge the electoral college vote?
Representatives need a senator to challenge the electoral college vote and throw it into the House of Representatives, right?

Is there anyone in the Senate who will stand with the Black Congressional Caucus this time?

Is anyone willing to do this?

And what happens if they do?

The Conyers hearing certainly raises the stakes.

Time to start plaguing our elected officials big time. This hearing gives us credibility!

3. That's a damn heavy load to put on his shoulders!
How about Byrd? He's tough.

I am sick at the idea of a repeat of 2000. That gavel scene with Gore. It made me mad at Gore for 2 whole years.

So this time, it would be Cheney with the gavel??
I feel sick!

4. Can't risk it
It'll have to be an outgoing member. Graham, Edwards, Hollins, Daschle...They have nothing to lose except their big paying jobs in the private sector!

9. Daschle could do it?
How do we convince him? One last stand. Yeah, he should do it. After what the GOP did to him. He may have been easy to push around, but he seemed a decent guy, a problem when you are swimming in a tankful of sharks.

Maybe he'll do it as a "f" you present to Bush.

2. My guess, no
unless there is a LOUD roar from the base of the Dem party to stand up, these guys are all about re-election

Our founding fathers never dreamed that elected office would a) be a career path; b) be more than a civic duty

real reform will only come about when it ceases to be a luxurious way of life to hold high office.

6. I have a gut feeling that...
there is a senator waiting in the wings to join the challenge. We all know the democratic congressmen and women are going to issue a challenge like they did in 2001, but I am confident that one senator will sign on to it.

5. If they are so worried about re-election
Why is it that our House Representatives are the ones that step up to the plate when they face the ax every two years.

I would think that we could get at least one Senator to join in this year.

Send the election to the House?
Seems like we'd just lose again. I think the idea is to use the recount and lawsuits to prove that Kerry won Ohio so we win the electoral college vote.

11. Half the country are non Bush voters, we have to inform
everyone, reach out along partylines, ask the 527's to participate in the grassroots info blitz.
Reach out to those churches, have them ask congress to investigate and demand the truth.
though shall not lie, though shall not steal, right?
and then we will find out where the moral values of this country lies.
