2. Bush won quite a few groups
Asshats went overwhelmingly for Bush as did the all important trailer trash vote. When you add in the core republican groups of religious bigots, Klan members, and white men hung like cocktail franks you get a pretty powerful coalition of the unwilling to read.

6. A better question ....where did he get 3 million more voters than Kerry
Were there really that many more republicans registered than dems? The independents broke for Kerry by a huge margin. They were supposed to be the deciding factor. All the other groups were accounted for in the pre election polls.

15. According to CNN's exit polls . . .
. . . which we all know have been adjusted to conform to the results, there was an excellent turnout of Republicans.

2004:

37% Democratic
37% Republican
26% Independent

2000:

39% Democratic
35% Republican
27% Independent

If we make the (probably inaccurate) assumption that absentee and early voters had a similar profile to those voters included in the exit polls, and we apply these percentages to the total number of voters (about 105.3 million in 2000, and about 122.0 million in 2004), we find:

Democratic turnout increased by about 10%, from 41 M to 45 M.

Republican turnout increased by about 22%, from 37 M to 45 M.

Independent turnout increased by about 12%, from 28 M to 32 M.

We have no way of knowing how many people switched party affiliation between 2000 and 2004. The exit polls do indicate that about 20 M (17%) of the 2004 voters did not vote in 2000 -- and those went for Kerry, 54% to 45%.

19.  Followers of Baal went for BushCo
I can forgive the Sheeple at the lower end of the pecking order better than I can forgive the Foxes at the upper end. They who think that lining their pockets at the expense of so many others is just fine. They never get the connection--that a selfish, corrupt society is a terrible world to live in, for them as well. They will always need more money to insulate themselves and no matter how much they have it's never enough. The Golden Calf is a prettier, more refined creature than the Sheeple's God of Hellfire and Damnation. But it's worshippers are more cynical, grasping and sinister. They are not going to care about fair voting practices as long as they are on the winning end.

30. Some social justice today
Saw a Mercedes hit an Escalade in a restaurant parking lot and drive away. Were it two normal cars I would have taken a license number, but I just stood there and laughed. Screw 'em. They probably both voted for the shrub.

29. Not so sure...they were pissed about Medicare and both times I saw
F 9/11 in the theaters, there were tons of elderly people. I remember that being the biggest surprise to me on the make-up of the crowd. There are alot of hard core Dems that are elderly. And they showed up.

I've thought about this quite a bit. Kerry had the women, , unions, african americans, hispanics, islamists (sp?), ex-pats, gay and lesbian, and a fair share of white men as well. Seems like most of my friends and co-workers - in this VERY RED STATE - were split 50/50....primarily caucasian. Given how disliked * is in Asia, would shock me to see the Asian-American vote go to *.

SO WHO THE F*** VOTED FOR *? REALLY.
