A practical start...
I think everyone here needs to find out all they can about your state's Secretary of State , pressure them to get on board with Election reform. Be relentless ( along with pressuring your Reps/Senators ). If the Secretary of State puts up roadblocks to meaningful Election reform ( getting rid of Sequoia, Diebold, ES&S machines would be a nice start ), then let's focus on voting them out ! Sec. of State elections usually don't get much coverage , so focusing our base on those contests could make huge differences down the line. Just think what might have happened if Kathryn Harris and Blackwell hadn't been in office during the last two Presidential Elections. Just think. And waiting till the 2008 Presidential election will be too late. Let's get going on this soon. Let's make as much noise as we did earlier this week , on the upcoming Election bills bravely struggling through Congress. The non-partisan votersunite.org has come up with some startling figures regarding electronic (Sequoia) results vs. paper Absentee ballots here in Washington State. You can believe I'll do my best to make sure my Reps are aware of it.
Maybe also a letter writing / e-mail/ call in campaign to the networks who have the raw Exit polling data, insisting they release the raw data ? Didn't some hideous Rethug take a blow at Exit polling in their floor speech yesterday ? Mark my words ... Exit polling is the next target.
Anyway, just a few ideas from someone who has just about given up on the quaint notion of Democracy in this country.

1. Exit polling has already been targeted...
The republican party will be using this exit polling experience for years to come to discredit it.

Exit polling is merely a tool for the media to gauge their predictions.

I think setting your sights on the partisan electronic voting machine corporations would be a better use of our time.

2. You're absolutely right.
The GOP has already targeted California's Democratic Secretary of State for removal because he fought to keep Diebold touchscreens out of our state. Now Congressional Republicans are investigating him on alleged financial improprieties! Of course they won't bother to investigate Kenneth Benedict-Arnold Blackwell.

Obviously the GOP's goal is to get a Blackwell Clone installed in California, so that he will rubberstamp the purchase of crooked voting machines and stonewall any recount attempts.
