2. Well, I think almost anybody voting by Absentee Ballot these days,
knows what's what, and will have voted for Bowen.

But, to tell you the truth, I can hardly believe my eyes (49/45 Bowen). Some Goddess is looking out for us, I think.

Did anybody but me notice the HUGE VOTER REBELLION AGAINST THE MACHINES, by Absentee Ballot voting? I think we've got a revolution, friends--but it has not yet fully surfaced. This Congress, even with a 35-40 edge to Dems, and a 50/50 Senate, still doesn't come close to representing the SEVENTY PERCENT of the American people who oppose Bush's war and other policies. We still have a lot of work to do to get our country back, and I think that AB vote is the key to it. We MUST leverage that huge outpouring of distrust in the machines into a PAPER BALLOT system, whether by default (everybody voting AB, and insisting on a hand count of AB votes BEFORE any electronics are involved), or by fiat of Congress (although I don't think they'll get rid of the machines, or totally get rid of corporate control of elections--it's going to take grass roots rebellion at the LOCAL level to do that).

But, hey, I can hardly believe that the nightmare of Bruce McDiebold is over in California. NOW we have to watch this woman's back--and I mean watch it. The Dark Lords will be not rest, with an honest Sec of State in California.

12. Debra Bowen, Dragon Slayer.
I was really, really biting my nails over this one. I considered this THE race.

McPherson, you slimy criminal -- you've been busted. Get out. Go home. Asshole.

13. O Fraptious Day! This is the one I was looking at the closest.
I think Debra will make more difference for fair voting in this country during her tenure than anybody else in the country. She really knows her stuff. She stays in contact with the right people. I believe she'll be able to prevent CA turning red due to the voting machines.

Couldn't be happier.

16. I was holding my breath
and hoping that this was true in fact I stayed up until 2 am refreshing California sec of state's results page.

I finally fell off to sleep and woke up at 6 am and hit refresh again and I was so happy she won.

Finally someone who will hear our voting issues and actually look into them instead of denying that there are problems that need to be fixed now.

20. I am so glad Debra won. I gave my CTA reps in my SDEA union . . .
a piece of my mind, and asked why would the CTA support Bruce McPherson? The pat answer was that Bruce McDiebold has always been a friend of education, and our members are not just Democrats. I told them, hog-wash. The SOS is probably the most important position we are voting for this Nov. 7th.

Without the integrity of our vote, we have absolutely nothing.

When I went to bed last night, I was happy about the National results, but it looked grim for CA. But this morning it was a new day!

Thank GOD Debra won. Now she can work on getting her "Voter Bill of Rights" enacted and decertify Diebold and kick them the hell out of CA. VVPB now! Andy is smiling from heaven.

Wow . . .

Just in the nick of time, Democracy was rescued a moment before it plunged off the cliff and into the abyss of Fascism.

It came too close for me. Let's never ever let it happen again. We have so much work to do, and so much damage to undo from the last 6 years. Let's get to work!!!

21. I was pondering that last night.

The teachers union, I believe, also endorsed Bowen's primary opponent (who also was weak on election management).

I read about McP being education friendly and having gubernatorial fantasy, so I saw the two mixing in dangerous fashion with regard to CTA.

So yeah. I'm relieved.
