County Commission Chairwoman Karen Marcus depressed a stamp that labeled the discards "REJECTED AS ILLEGAL" and the clicking echoed through the empty room typically filled with lawyers, cameras, and reporters.

Next to the long table where the board sat, a dozen postal buckets were stacked, filled with rejected provisional ballots — a few thousand in all. But about 1,000 of the last-chance ballots, filled out by voters whose registration or precinct location was in question on Election Day, ultimately were accepted, a fact that comforted canvassing board member Judge Barry Cohen.

2. I think the next move is to audit the absentee ballots.
It can be done at your leisure. If something considerable is discovered, it might get interesting.
