:bounce: We urgently need to crank up our media blitz, urging media to cover the story about the innumerable voting irregularities that have been discovered. To help you with the task, DU has a great media blaster:

There is the local media blaster, which is available by clicking the "Campaign Underground" link at the top of every page. Also, there is a national media list pinned to the top of the General Discussion: Politics forum. I'm not really sure how to connect the two, but you are welcome to direct people to either list when they are trying to contact the media.

You can also write, phone, and/or e-mail media who have covered the story, thanking them and urging them to expand their coverage. A partial list of the "friendlies" is at this link:

But when Tina returned in 2000 to live in America, she was concerned about allegations of election tampering. A patriotic American, Tina had trouble believing widespread voter fraud could occur in this country. But after acting as a nonpartisan observer Nov. 2 this time around at a precinct in Florida, she says she's lost faith in the system. In nine hours Tina says she saw "lowdown tricks" that have made her feel "disgusted, angry -- and yes, energized." That's why she wants her story told.

to thank her (she does indeed write consistently excellent articles) and to encourage her to nudge the paper into reporting on this story. I also wrote to one of the associate editors.

The Oregonian does some absolutely amazing reporting on social-injustice stories and I think they might be amenable to putting some reporters on the vote-fraud story if they hear that there's interest in it. I pointed out that almost nobody is covering this story (besides the Globe and of course Keith) and that this is their chance to get yet another Pulitzer.

36. Hey! I got a really nice response from Margie

I won't post it here because she wasn't expecting a private e-mail to be reproduced in public... but she seems like a dear, as I've always suspected from her columns.

She says she can't travel and anyway couldn't just wander around another state looking for problems (we have a paper trail here--vote by mail), but she's interested in vote fraud stories from other Oregonians who went to other states to help with the vote... anybody?

She also said that other major papers are also researching this, it'll just take (a lot of) time for the results of their work to come out.

Again, she seems like a sweetie, so Oregonians with stories from Election Day, you know whom to write to!

Is Bush trying to pull a fast one? It's not fooling bloggers over at DemocraticUnderground.com, who have put together some fascinating numbers showing that a mysterious "5% advantage" goes to Bush only in those states using electronic voting machines. Or, put another way, all the exit polls showed Kerry winning, and the exit polls asked people who they actually voted for. But strangely, the "official" count appears to have been boosted in favor of Bush.
