Brief ideas:

There's a rift in the fabric of time/space in Cardiff, Wales

There's a super-secret Brit institution for dealing with alien lifeforms, which is being transformed from a "god is an Englishman" mentality to something a little more modern, under the care of Jack Harkness. He leads the unit, code-named "Torchwood."

Torchwood conveniently keeps its offices near the rift.

Jack is omni-sexual and the character was one of the participants in prime-time television's first ever Serious Gay Male Kiss.

and you heard the rest... It's an interesting show.

3. Yay, Torchwood!

Ever wonder why there are so many commercials for chrisTian gospel music during the show about the time-traveling bisexual Atheist?

Does this mean that chrisTian evangelicals are a key demographic of this show on BBC America, or are they just advertising during the show in a desperate grab to "save" our souls?

Tonight's episode is a repeat of the series premier from 2006.

4. I think it's because BBCA has such horrible viewer numbers,
except for the few weeks that they show something new/interesting (like Torchwood) that they have to take what they can get, advertising-wise.

7. Glad for you (that it's back on)! I know nothing about this show, but this fellow looks
like the love child of Big (Sex/City) and Tom Cruise to moi!
(just sayin' -)

11. yummy
isn't he? Barrowman is very out, alas, so as a female admirer, I can only worship even more from afar than usual ;-)

He had that hysterical walk-on in The Producers as the very Arian blonde in the "Springtime for Hitler" number.

9. When does Season 3 actually start?
According to their schedule, BBCA is showing reruns of the first season throughout April.
