Liam Neeson To Star As Zeus In `Clash of the Titans'
Bless him in his sadness over wife Natasha Richardson, but is this a movie that REALLY needs to be made? Pretty cheesy the first time around. Ralph Fiennes should be good as King of the Underworld, though:

LOS ANGELES — Liam Neeson is set to begin work on his first film since the death of his wife, Natasha Richardson.

Neeson will play Zeus, king of the gods, in a remake of "Clash of the Titans" opposite Ralph Fiennes as Hades, ruler of the underworld. Louis Leterrier ("Transporter 2," last year's "The Incredible Hulk") will direct the film, which is scheduled to begin production in the United Kingdom later this month, Warner Bros. said Thursday.

Longtime friends Neeson and Fiennes haven't shared the screen since 1993's "Schindler's List." Also among the cast are "Casino Royale" villain Mads Mikkelsen, Sam Worthington of the upcoming "Terminator Salvation" and Alexa Davalos ("Defiance").

The original "Clash of the Titans" from 1981 starred Laurence Olivier as Zeus. . .

4. A little cheesiness is okay by me. There are plenty of films
to be made for the first time, though. I read a crime/mystery novel set in the late 1800's in NYC ages ago. Would have made a wonderful movie. Would have had Teddy Roosevelt cameo in it.

6. I'm not a big fan of remakes but for it's time SFX wise COTT wasn't bad
But then I'm a Ray Harryhausen fan from way back. I think it could benefit with todays special effects, but it seems again that the roles of the "Gods" are going to be juicier this time and where the best acting talent is being used. Same as last time with Oliver and Maggie Smith as Zeus and Thetis. I'll pay the 10 bucks.
