I mean, really, she is in the elevator and he manages to get her out and up above the water.

And she DIES???

And then we think it's not such a loss cuz maybe she wasn't really into him that much.

But then we find out that maybe she WAS???

:wtf:

Did I get that right?

It was on TV, couldn't replay the ending.

A little help here, please?

2. Yeah, its a really sad ending...James was so in love with her and her betrayal sets the stage for
him never "trusting or loving" again....

The ending when she dies is so sad and tragic...yes, one is left to think that she screwed over James, but in reality, she cut a deal (when they were both being tortured) to provide the money and that his life would be spared. But I think she knew she was going to die anyway (part of the deal?) or I thought maybe she wanted to die because she couldn't face James. But I think the bottom line was that she was the love of James life.

3. That's so sad!
I love the new actor in this role, best since Sean Connery, maybe better.

And now I feel even more for him, I look forward to the next one with him.

Thanks for the details!

4. Isn't your headline a spoiler?
It doesn't matter to me since I do not like Bond movies, but it might to others.

5. Well, too late to change it now.
I suppose one could surmise that sad means somebody dies, and that because there's always a love interest that it's probably the girl dying, but then anyone that up to speed on the bond series would probably have seen the film by now.

Can't change it now though...

6. The next one continues the story
If you can rent Quantum of Solace, please do. It's the first time I have ever seen a Bond movie be a continuation of the previous movie. You get a lot of answers - and boy a lot of action. And yes, I love Daniel Craig. I will watch him in anything now!!!

7. .
Yes, it was quite sad. It was some years ago that I saw it so I'm not sure anymore, but for me it looked as if she didn't really want to be rescued or as if she thought that she didn't deserve to be rescued in the end which made it even sadder. As if she accepted her fate as justice for her actions despite her reasons for doing so which where explained later. There seemed to be much remorse on her part. Eva Green is not only very beautiful, but for me she also gave way more life and meaning to her role in comparison to previous "Bond girls".

Also, some don't like Craig, but I think he was excellent for the role. Generally, this movie seemed to enter a new dimension (similar to the Batman movies with Christian Bale), especially compared to the movies with Brosnan that I just couldn't stand.

8. I Was Left Pretty Cold By the Love Story Element
Edited on Mon Jun-08-09 05:35 PM by NashVegas
1. Didn't see much chemistry.
2. Sure as hell didn't see them fall in love.
3. The transition from "ick" to the shower scene to "you can have me anytime" was outright silly, IMO.
4. Why would Bond fall for such a weakling?

I understand, it's an action movie and there just wasn't that much time - it's a guy movie! - they'd have been able to dedicate to the love story and have it still be a James Bond movie. But it CAN be done. Go back and watch "On Her Majesty's Secret Service." Diana Rigg's character kicked MAJOR ass.

I thought everything else about it was great.
