Closing out 'The Closer'

Get ready to say good-bye to L.A. Police Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson – ‘The Closer’ is closing up shop.

TNT said Friday that the Kyra Sedgwick series, one of the most popular original dramas ever produced for basic cable, will end its run with its seventh season next year. An announcement from the cable network said the decision to wind things up came from Sedgwick herself.

Sedgwick won an Emmy for playing Johnson, the brittle, Southern-born, candy-addicted L.A. homicide expert who specialized in wringing confessions from murder suspects – a talent for “closing” tough cases from which the show gets its name. ........(more)

for me and it is going bye-bye. It has the best casting of anything around today.

I don't pay much attention to tv and entertainment news, so this is the first time I'm hearing that one of my favorite shows is going away. I LOVE The Closer. Deputy Chief Brenda Lee Johnson is one of the most interesting characters on tv, and Sedgwick just won an Emmy for it. Why the hell are they canceling the show?

ETA: Ah, after reading the link, it says Sedgwick wants to end the show. Very disappointing. I will definitely miss it. Rizzoli and Isles isn't half as good.
