It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown Will Be Broadcast Thursday, October 27, 2011

ABC has announced that It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown will air on Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 8:00-9:00 PM (Eastern/Pacific). As is now becoming usual, Great Pumpkin will be broadcast unedited together with a shortened version of You're Not Elected, Charlie Brown.

The special was first broadcast on October 27, 1966, so that means this week's broadcast of It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown will be happening 45 years to the day after the original broadcast.

1. How many commercials is ABC running? I remember the show being 30 minutes in 1966.

2. The original, unedited, running time was 25 minutes.
Most half hour shows today run 21-22 minutes.

So the showing should run from 8 PM to about 8:33. The cutdown of "Your're Not Elected" should run about 18 minutes.

3. Thanks for posting this. I didn't know it was the anniversary.
Is that why this pumpkin was placed in Dr. Conrad Murray's trial today?

4. I remember thinking as a kid that the snoopy as WWI flying ace was just magical to me.
