1. It sounds like it's pretty worn out , according to the description.

Not bad for a beater, maybe?

4. sure
but it's not in bad shape either for the most part. I use it mainly to haul my scooter around, and the main reason I am selling is because I am moving to NYC next week and don't want/need a car.

5. Would the windshield pass inspection?
That could be an expense right off the bat for a new owner.

Good luck.

6. I have no idea
it cracked in a cold snap last winter. It didn't leak, so I did not bother getting it fixed.

Good question though.

2. That is exactly what I was looking for
A small older pickup.

I purchased a used vehicle last month. In fact the temp tag expired yesterday.

Day late! Sorry man. Cincinnati wouldn't have been too far to travel either.

3. If it's pretty clean with no major repairs to be made, that's a good price
I had a 1989 "stock" - 5-speed L4 engine extended bed Ranger with only A/C added that got 25/29 city/highway and took a regular beating. (regular maintenace tended to be sporatic - and I tended to do a lot of hauling - once hauled a 3/4 ton ship's radar transmitter cabinet in my Ranger's bed from our shop in Chula Vista to Long Beach Naval Shipyard because our F350 shop truck was in the shop)
I sold it to a neighbor who needed to haul a trailer (he sold and did repair on knives, watches and jewelry at swap meets) for $500 and a clutch job in 2001, and it's still going strong with close to 300K miles on the engine.
I ran into him a couple months ago, he still takes it out on hauls to Las Vegas and Phoenix about four times a year, and figures he's only dropped $2K (mainly the clutch and a new head gasket for major work) in repairs over the past 8 years.

If you were in San Diego and I had a couple hundred more in savings, I'd consider it. I loved my Ranger.

Haele
