Just because I am an Atheist doesn't mean I don't believe in Angels
Granted, I'm not talking about the "Poor Man's Greek Gods" like the Archangel Gabriel, or the concept of a "Guardian Angel." I am talking about a human being, who does something that is selfless, noble and pure. The kind of thing an angel would do in the bible.

Two days ago, I wrecked my rental car in Downtown Denver. I had taken my son on a business trip with me, and while I did business, I had him taken care of at a strip mall day care by the hour place. Sometimes when you want to bring a kid on a business trip - this is your option. The places aren't bad, really. But I will admit - you are already putting a lot of hope in the human race at that point.

Anyway, I was driving downtown, and I was hit by another driver right in the front wheel. The wheel, which should have been at a 90 degree angle, was at a 45. I had sworn the light was green, but so did she. I wasn't 100% sure though - - and she was, so I was faulted. Anyway, the car had to be towed to the rental company at the airport, and There I had my kid in day care, waiting for daddy.

The driver of the tow truck said it was no problem picking up my son on the way to the airport. The guy was awesome - born in El Salvador, now a biker - his wife waited patiently in the back. She knew no English, but I knew Spanish (and my son speaks some.)

When we picked up my son, he said that he was hungry and hadn't eaten. So the tow truck driver was happy to stop at Taco Bell and get some food for him. All the time he was joking around with my kid, as was his wife.

When the car was dropped off at the lot, he offered to drive me and my kid to the rental agency, and even wait until I got a rental, just in case.

Anyway, just thought I'd share.

1. That's awesome. I'm glad it turned out OK.
I'm wondering how the day care place released your son to someone else, though...

4. Definitely - no one was hurt
And the boy wasn't in the car when I was hit

It was pretty freaky though...

5. that's a nice story.
thank you for sharing.

i'm an atheist, but i believe in angels -- yep gabriel, michael, etc. don't ask me why. i don't believe in god. i went to a psychic one time who channeled archangel michael. at the end of the reading she said "anytime you need us, just call our names michael, raphael, uriel and gabriel and we will be with you". a few weeks after that i tried it. it worked. that was about 20 years ago. recently i was going through a difficult time, and i called on them and it helped. i did it several times during a 3 week period. go figure.

6. Could be you believe in archetypes
Along the lines of Carl Jung...

And keep in mind it was not as if he didn't use the Scientific Method.

8. I love the theory of archetypes.
It explains so much in literature really well, I think.
