is to have the concept, held, I believe, by Buddhists and I know by Native Americans, that all beings are aware and that they should be treated in a caring manner. In the Lakota tradition, everything is sacred, and things are done for "all my relations", meaning all sentient beings. In a mystical sense, all things have soul, have breath, even the rocks.
The mindset of those who would kill to save lives, in whatever fashion, is based upon a concept that is fear based and works from a position of lack rather than love based and abundance.
So what does one do with those people in power making these sort of decisions? One starts by changing onesself, finding Peace within, and forgiving those whose path is not like their own. To many, this may sound silly and not productive, but I truly believe that by denying the energy of hate and fear to these people, their power will be reduced-maybe not immediately, but in time. Fear and loathing will not make this transition to sanity any shorter, and will only, in the end, be hurtful of the person doing the fear and loathing.
