4. That seems figuratively like littering in a thread.

Wouldn't it be more respectful to articulate whatever complaint you have? If convenient, you could also help instill in people who read this thread an appreciation of the high importance that you attach to the topic. That would explain your desire to focus on this particular thread and your desire to express disapproval of the way the topic was handled in the Original Post.

6. Why not just hide this thread instead of posting in it?
I could find threads that seem trashy and post hints that I don't like them, but what would be the purpose? Different people have different tastes. If somebody asks for my opinion about whether or not a particular Original Post is trashy, then I might reply by Private Message to the person who asks.

7. Yes, but such axioms are individually intrinsic, culturally articulated, or dogmatically supported.
Edited on Wed Apr-29-09 07:36 PM by patriotvoice
That is, there are no universal axioms of ethics.

On edit:
Happy 1000th post. It only took 5 years.

9. I simply believe it. Ethics is not within the realm of knowledge.
Any formal attempt at ethical calculus will fail... but, I have no proof of that.

12. How about these...
Axiom of ethics 1: Humans are generally capable of making choices.

Axiom of ethics 2: In the realm of ethics, some choices are more ethical than other choices.

Axiom of ethics 3: If a person wishes to be ethical, he or she should consider the ethical implications of the choices he or she makes.
