Bad officiating and Rivers is a jerk
Both games last night at more than one bad call (Patriots with two incorrect roughing the passers and yet two that were not called, what the heck?). It really sucked that a bad call took away the Oakland touchdown and I said during the game that if they lost by four they should be upset and sure enough they did. I don't like the Raiders at all but they should have been tied at the end of that game.

Also, I don't dislike the Chargers overall but in the last few seasons they have had some real arrogant players. Rivers really annoys me as he always seems to have something to say. Yesterday he gets called for taunting a man on the ground and there seems to be many examples of him not being a good sport.

1. Not being a good sport?
This is football, controlled violence is the name of the game...Miss Manners and her rules don't apply here. Often those that play with a chip on their shoulder are the most successful, and there's no getting around the fact that Rivers is an excellent QB.

You are right that the Raiders had a TD taken away, I'm not sure what the replay officials were looking at...it seemed obvious to me.

2. Agreed with all points...
but Rivers seems very bitchy. He is definitely a top qb but him and Cutler both annoy me. :)

3. Now you know why the NY Giants traded up to pick Eli Manning
first in the 2004 draft.

Eli's proven himself to be a very classy guy as well as a fine QB - can't argue with a Super Bowl ring and a Super Bowl MVP trophy.

Rivers would have been like Jeremy Shockey - re your last sentence - and coach Tom Coughlin doesn't want players like that on his team.

4. Right. The Saints also seem to have gotten the better qb. nt

5. The incomplete catch on the touchdown is a good call.

The player needs to complete the catch. He did not do that.

The taunting flag was deserved. Rivers behaved like a jerk. He's lucky he didn't get DQ'd.

6. Apparently Bernie Madoff is on work release as an NFL referee
He very nearly stole Sunday night's game for Da Bears with a phantom illegal contact call that led to the go-ahead FG. Only the last-minute Rodgers-to-Jennings heroics saved the day for the Pack.

Undaunted, Madoff and his crew jetted off to Oakland in their G5 to perpetrate last night's dumbass game-stealing call. Literally dumbass: the replay clearly showed the Raiders receiver on his ass, in the end zone, with possession, then the ball came out. :grr:
