1. I would most certainly not count them out. They're good even without WW,
and the rules are now designed to make such comebacks possible.

They need a turnover and Balt. will not put the ball in the air much.

2. Nice little 'rabbit foot' for the Ravens
http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/blog/2010/01/lewis_amazingly_surprisingly_gets_first_sack_of_plaoff_caree.html

<snip>

Ray Lewis' 7-yard takedown of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is -- astonishingly -- the first of 11-time Pro Bowl linebacker's career. That's somewhat mind-boggling considering that Lewis has been such a defensive presence in this, his 12th, postseason contest.

Lewis' sack -- when paired with Terrell Suggs' takedown earlier in the game -- gives the Ravens two already. Brady had been sacked just once in his last five games. (Tip of the hat to Ravens website content writer and coordinator Mike Duffy for that piece of info.)

By the way, Suggs' sack and strip of Brady was reminiscent of his sack and strip of Brady in the teams' first meeting. Back on Oct. 4, Suggs' play ended with defensive end Dwan Edwards falling on the fumble in the end zone and giving the Ravens a touchdown.

3. Not without a miracle and a few Ravens penalties
Edited on Sun Jan-10-10 03:25 PM by pipi_k
and yeah...I'm a Patriots fan.

I knew this would be ugly when Baltimore scored in the first few seconds of the game.

PS..edited to add that I knew the Pats were screwed when some sportscaster or another pointed out that they hadn't been beaten at home during the playoffs since 1978.

Nice way to put a curse on them, asshole!

5. Speaking as a Pats fan, sadly no
They are not a playoff caliber team this year, and even if they did win, there is no way they will beat the Chargers. So in a way it's best if they lose today, regroup, rebuild and prepare for next year.

8. I'm guessing the Ravens are the first team to win a playoff game
when their quarterback had a passer rating for the game of 10.0.

Flacco 4-10, 34 yds, 0 TD 1 Int

11. It's a lot harder to win when you're not allowed to cheat.
