Hey DU, anyone want to teach a bigoted FB group a lesson?

I am a member of the Dallas Cowboys Haters Club, and they are all fired up about calling Romo a Homo. At first they deleted the comments when a couple of us complained, but now they are running with it. Please join and comment.

So yes, I am a Texans fan, but I actually have a long history of Cowboy-hating.

I was a Redskins fan before the Panthers came to town, and still root for the Redskins when they aren't playing the Panthers... so, hating the Cowboys is a requirement lol

My parents were big Redskins fans, so I have grown up rooting against the Cowboys. Then, after moving to Texas, I admit to being ambivalent But when they turned into basically a prison training camp (and hired Switzer), I knew my folks had been right about them all along! LOL

4. It is not a group centered around hate speech.... its just a sports group

throwing out some bigoted comments. I doubt FB would do anything about it, seeing that they aren't calling for violence or anything. Plus, I'd rather they just learned a lesson.

I am not sure what you mean by "learned a lesson" but is seems to me that if facebook shut down the group for homophobic remarks then that would be lesson enough.

6. I mean that if the group stays open but learn that there is peer pressure against

slurs, then maybe they'll get something out of the argument. I have never heard of just calling someone a name getting a FB group closed, though I have helped shut down some that took it further.

8. I seem to remember

a time when people outside the Bay Area snickered about 49ers players Tom Holmoe and Dan Bunz all because of their names and for playing in San Francisco. (Those players both won Super bowl rings) I thought that kind of stupid crap was childish then, and its still childish now.

That's why I'd rather have people join the discussion and try to influence it, rather than shut it down.

Now someone has brought politics into it by saying someone couldn't be a Democrat and a Christian (not me). I responded that Jesus was a liberal.
