Football Writers Association Should be Ashamed of Themselves
Now while I dont believe the bullshit that the NCAA spoonfed to me and everybody else regarding Cam Newton, to leave him off their All-America Team is pretty fucked up. He was definitely the best skill position player in the NCAA and one of the most impressive seasons I've ever seen.

Of course I dont believe he knew nothing about his father trying to get $200,000, but until hes proven guilty of something, he should be first team All-America on every single list and should win the Heismann.

2. Well lets see, he was guilty of knowingly having a stolen laptop
which he threw out the window when the police came. There seems to have been academic fraud at Florida. And of course he knew what his dad was doing. The guy is a scumbag and no, I'm not going to whine because this jerk got left off a team. Awww poor lying jerk, didn't get a honor!:puke: :puke: :nopity:

3. There is no evidence of academic fraud at Florida, only a he said/she said
Edited on Sat Dec-11-10 10:59 PM by Elwood P Dowd
rumor reported by the scumbags at ESPN, which has turned into tabloid journalism to get ratings. His JUCO in Texas even said there was NOTHING on the academic records they received from Florida about this. Cam Newton is a jerk? Have you ever met him or talked to him? He was a model citizen at JUCO last year and has been a model citizen at Auburn this year. He made a mistake at Florida as an immature freshman, and you want to call him a scumbag? You are just another "guilty until proven innocent" poster who wants to destroy a 21-year-old kid for a freshman mistake and lies and rumors spread by ESPN and others. The NCAA put three investigators on this case for several weeks and found nothing on him! You are no better than Fox News and Limbaugh fans who think Obama is a communist!!!!!!

Edit to add: A scumbag as you call him is not loved by his coaches and teammates. A scumbag is not loved by his classmates and fellow students. A scumbag is not loved by the people who live in Auburn that have met him. A scumbag is not loved by the 4th grade kids he works with every single monday, his day off from football practice, at the elementary school.

5. The whole academic stuff at Florida was first reported by Fox Sports

All other news story after that said, "sources according to Fox Sports".

BTW-not disputing anything else. Just pointing that one out.

6. "there seems'
do we really live in a world where "there seems" is proof of guilt?

Come on.

4. The FWAA ought to be ashamed all right...
for selecting Kellen Moore over Andrew Luck. Newton of course won the Heisman, while Luck finished second, but the FWAA has the third best QB in America, at least according to Heisman voters, as their first team QB. Bunch of BS.

7. Some scouts say Luck is the most NFL ready QB in 10-15 years

8. I wonder if those were the same scouts who thought
Tim Couch and Chris Weinke were "NFL ready".

9. Chris Weinke?
The one who played minor league baseball for several years and was 30 years old by the time he entered the draft? I'm not sure what scouts were saying but I could of told you he wasn't anything special. The NFL pretty much agreed. No team took him until a later round.

I could see potential in Luck. But I never saw any in Leinke.

10. If I remember right, there were a number of scouts pointing to is age
as proof that he's mature enough. I say all this not necessarily as a knock against Luck, but more as an indictment of the wisdom of "scouts".

11. LOL. Probably.
Myself, I never really get too high on anybody until they actually have at least one 250 yard game in the NFL. Until that happens, it's just a theory.

Remember when Peyton Manning vs. Ryan Leaf was a draft time debate? LOL
