What do you want Santa to bring your team(s)?
Oakland A's: Home runs.

Cleveland Baseball Club: An Exorcist to break the Curse of Colavito. And $80,000,000 to sign some new players.

San Francisco 49ers: This is a huge list, but since I don't want to appear too greedy I'll just ask for a new owner.

Oakland Raiders: See above.

Cleveland Browns: A trip to the playoffs.

San Francisco Giants: Nothing. Christmas came early this year.

2. Ok.
Eagles: A Super Bowl victory.

Phillies: Cliffmas came early.

Islanders: A playoff birth would be nice one of these years.

3. You'd think as a Boston guy I'd be happy, but the only trophy I really care about is this one...

We've had a parade for everything here in Boston over the last decade (even college hockey) and I hate to seem greedy, but I was only 5 in '72 when the Bruins last won a Cup, and that would be the best sports gift for me.

4. The Brewers need a +2 WAR centerfielder and a +2 WAR short stop.
The Blazers need several sets of new knees.

The Timbers need some serious forwards.

6. My Christmas came on Nov. 1st..
I still think about it almost everyday. Sometimes, when things don't seem to be going well, either with the 49ers, the Sharks, or even with life, I just have to remind myself that the San Francisco Giants have finally won the World Series and I brighten right up..

The 49ers need a new owner. That's not going to happen though, so a new QB would be next on the list. I've already seen a couple mock drafts..one had them taking Cam Newton (I hope not, he not only has issues, but he reminds me of Vince Young)... the other, Ryan Mallett, who, from what I've seen, might not be a bad choice.

7. Spurs and Tide
I want a healthy season for my beloved Spurs so they can win 70 games and a fifth title.

I want the next season to start for the Crimson Tide so they can get back to Alabama football.

9. Not too much here,
The Pats, Sox, and Celtics are in pretty good shape, so I'm just hoping for good health for all of them.
For the Bruins, a Cup would be nice, but I don't know if Santa can fit a miracle that big in his bag this year.
For my adopted college football team, a win over Ohio St. in the Sugar Bowl.

Edited on Fri Dec-24-10 11:01 AM by KamaAina
That's all it would take to propel them to a long-overdue NFC West crown. Seriesly.

Raiders: 20,000 or so more fans, or an end to the silly, outdated blackout rule.

A's: A workable stadium plan in Oakland. (I'm not planning to stay in SJ forever, you know. :-) )

Giants: What he said! :bounce:

15. For the San Francisco Giants . . .
. . . more of whatever he brought them last year.

For the Oakland A's: a pitching staff and a set of cheap nylons (they need the runs).

For the 49ers: a quarterback and a new owner.

For the Raiders: a quarterback and a new owner who appreciates the value of a consistently good quarterback.

For the Sacramento Kings and the Golden State Warriors: a complete makeover.

For the American League and other minor baseball leagues: the end of the DH.

For El Supremo: the wisdom to see that the end of the DH would be a good thing.

For the Dallas Cowboys: more of whatever he brought them last year.

For FIDE, the world governing body of chess: a new president.

For Kirsan Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, current president of FIDE: another ride in a flying saucer, much longer than the last one he took.

19. To the Cleveland Indians, the following:
1) New owner
2) New mascot
3) New GM
4) New field name
5) New team name
6) New players

For Ichiro Suzuki: 1st ballot hall of fame
For tOSU Buckeyes: 7 more years in a row of beating that team up North
For Cavaliers, to move to Vegas and to get NHL franchise instead
For NY Yankmees, for Steinbrenner II to sell team to Sony and have them cut payroll by 75%

20. Dolphins and Canes; an imploded stadium
Everything else would take care of itself.

That glorified storage shed can stagnate Miami football for half a century unless a visionary steps forward.

I predicted as much the first time I set foot in the place in 1987.

To sports in general, my wish is more muscle and less finesse. It's disgusting how severely team sports have declined in my lifetime, with absurd emphasis on passing and 3 point shots. It's easy to become immune to the ruination, or in denial, until an old tape is inserted.

22. Re: Sparky
Unfortunately, the stadium is named after an insurance company, although many of who live outside the area don't realize it (Great American Ballpark).

...lifelong and diehard, let the tOSU bring the best they have. That will suit me and most hog fans just fine. They can serve their time next year, but this year, win or lose, we want the best they have to offer. Thanks.

27. The same thing I wish for every year...
...and never get. Granted, the way the Cubs have been playing recently, I guess I should be thrilled when they manage to stay out of the cellar. They are not going to get Ted Lilly back, and we can't go into some parallel universe where the team is owned by someone other than the Ricketts family, so I guess I will just have to be happy that #34 is once again going to be worn for at least one more season by its rightful owner.

But, my Blackhawks FINALLY came through for me, for the first time since I was an infant. It would be great if they got a repeat this year, but it's not the same team as last season.

And, Da Bears are going to the playoffs. I hope they go far, if not all the way.
