Thought you would be interested.

Lot of Iowa fans in Tempe today. Apparently there is an Iowa Cafe in my hometown--Mesa, but on the East side. They have Hawkeye merchandise and serve food. Food they say is unique to Iowa. The names were unique, I'll give it a shot--Iowa Maiden Vay(I know I butchered this) It looked like a burger but it's not.

I found the website--http://www.iowacafe.com/index.html I looked through the menu and I couldn't find what I was thinking of. I did find the other meals featured. They also got a "John Deere room".

1. I I know there's an Iowa bar in Scottsdale called Kinnicks, Jon.

Been advertising on Hawkeyenation. I believe the dish your thinking of is a maidrite. It's like a sloppy joe without the sauce. Kind of blah if you ask me. More good news today: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/bowls10/news/story?id=5963013 Gives new meaning to the words 'bowl game', doesn't it? I have no idea what team is going to show tonight. Thanks for the info.

3. Oh my heavens...
The Maidrite! Also known by its less glamorous name, "the loose meat sandwich". Condem calls them "madewrongs". I'll tell you the secret ingredient (and I'm not joking either); it's MSG. Yum!

Named for Brett Farve no doubt!

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

5. Maidrites are a gift from heaven
I love those things. Especially on Fridays when one local Maidrite franchised restaurant has them for .$99 each, $1.24 for added cheese. Yum! Sorry Condem, you are not from here so apparently you can't truly appreciate Maidrites. And GO HAWKS!
One more thing, with the Hawkeyes who are (allegedly) smoking reefer, Maidrites are likely manna from heaven.

7. Like I said, a little bit of heaven
Especially to our Hawkeye players who may have the munchies. Of course I can't imagine why they'd have the munchies.

With no fans in the stadium. There have already been hundreds of accidents
in the Philly area. Is it worth people dieing to play a football game???

I think I commented about people dying (yeah, like at a teabagger rally - they will be dyed white), if they had the football game in a blizzard.

:P

15. I needed a lucky cover
Not the best bowl season so far for my system. Hovering at 50/50 although money line on Tulsa was sweet.

Great job Iowa. I thought it would be easier, as the more physical team.

Despite the loss and late screw up, I'm sure Missouri QB Blaine Gabbert will move up the draft boards, perhaps whispered as Miami's choice to replace Henne.
