Kinda glad I missed the Pinstripe Bowl

I understand late in the game a player was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct for saluting (in the military fashion) the crowd following a TD that could have tied the game (assuming a successful two point conversion). But instead of an attempt from the two yard line, it was moved back to the 17. And the two point attempt failed.

Yet, yesterday in the Alamo Bowl we saw a player run parallel to the goal line almost the entire width of the field just to show up his opponent. Why is that crap allowed yet a simple salute (a sign of respect) is not?

Just so tired of this BS.

Also, I understand the officials have the discretion to enforce the penalty on the extra point attempt or the ensuing kickoff. They must have really had it in for K-State for some reason.
