USC-50 UCLA-0
USC is the Pac-12 South Division winner in every way but semantics and bureaucracy.

The Trojans pounded UCLA, the official South champs, 50-0 Saturday, with quarterback Matt Barkley throwing six touchdown passes, setting a new Pac-12 record with 39 TD passes this season. Barkley passed for 423 yards with no interceptions. His favorite target was Marqise Lee, who had 13 catches for 224 yards and two scores.

USC is ineligible for the postseason due to controversial NCAA sanctions. The Trojans, who beat North Division champion Oregon last week, therefore finish their season 10-2 overall and 7-2 in the conference.

UCLA fell to 6-6 and 5-4 in the conference. It will play at Oregon in the conference championship game Friday. It's uncertain whether Bruins coach Rick Neuheisel will still have his job before the game.

So, thanks to the sanctions against USC (I wonder why the Buckeyes didn't get something similar?), the Pac-12 will now have a weak 6-6 UCLA playing in the conference championship game. They should lose to Oregon by a large margin, but what if the Bruins pulled off an upset? Does that mean a then 7-6 team will be in a BCS bowl?

1. Wecome to the crazy stupid world of conference championship games.
I'm glad that the Big 12 doesn't have one this year.

2. You know what else..
Alabama, despite losing to LSU and finishing second in their division, are actually in a better position to play for the BCS title because while Alabama's season is over, LSU still has to go through Georgia in the SEC championship game..

3. Get waxed 50-0, go to your conference title game
:boring:

If only Oregon State hadn't mailed in the Civil War, at least it could have been Stanford administering the inevitable beatdown. :(
