Isaac Bruce to return to 49ers

Isaac Bruce will return for his 16th season in the NFL and his second with the 49ers, the team confirmed Wednesday morning.

Bruce, who will be 37 in November, will earn $1.475 million in salary this season and count $2 million against the salary cap. In 2008 he led the 49ers with 61 receptions for 835 yards and seven touchdowns. For his career Bruce has 1,003 receptions for 14,944 yards and 91 touchdowns.

This is good news because not only was Bruce the leading 49er receiver last year but his experience is much needed.

He should be able to help with the experience factor.

Considering the division he played in, the stats don't mean much.

the stats don't mean much? You can say the NFC West was weak, but remember where the NFC SB representative came from...plus the 49ers played the NFC East last year.

Bruce was making big catches in every game and was by far the 49er's most reliable receiver....and unlike many of the Cowboys, he was a perfect team player.
