1. Denver is saying they want 2 first round picks
for Cutler. That's just way too much for a guy who's a question mark between the ears.

4. I'm not saying he's dumb
I'm saying something's going on with his character...he's been acting like an immature little brat throughout this entire ordeal.

Perhaps some of this can be laid at the foot of his father Jack, who is somewhat overbearing. Jack apparently has had a habit of standing on the sidelines during Bronco practices.

Cutler's parents live about 2 miles away from their son in Denver and put their house up for sale at about the same time Jay did. I think it's about time Jay got away from his parents and grew up.

Not to mention, they're cheaters.

<snip>

Who threw the snowball that interfered with a 49er field goal attempt by Ray Wersching and may have cost San Francisco a victory over the Broncos in Denver Monday night?

on November 11, 1985, the Broncos won a Monday Night Football home game when a fan threw a snowball onto the field during San Francisco 49ers kicker Ray Wersching field goal attempt. 49er holder Matt Cavanaugh picked up the ball and threw it incomplete, losing three decisive points in a 17-16 loss.

''Me and my buddy both threw snowballs at the same time,'' he said, recalling that his friend's had hit an upright while his own bounced near the place-kick holder, Matt Cavanaugh, causing him to bobble the snap and abort the attempted field goal, which represented the margin in the Bronco's 17-16 victory. The paper, which said it was convinced the young man was the real snowball thrower, said he had expressed his apologies to the 49ers and their fans but refused the $500.

6. You know what else?
The 49ers finished 10-6 that year losing the division by 1 game. So, because of the snowball they were forced to go on the road and play a wildcard game, which they lost.

Who knows?.. that snowball might have very well have cost the Niners another Super Bowl. So, when you combine the '85 snowball game with the cheating in the '83 Championship game, the 49ers rightfully could have and probably would have had 7 SB victories by now.

Seems like cheating was the only way to stop the 49er juggernaut during the eighties.

was the snowball that gave Denver the cheat-induced "win" considering Wersching was absolutely and consistently money with his PAT's.

11. Facts are facts
if the snowball had not have been thrown, instead of finishing second by 1 game the 49ers would have won the division, as they owned the tiebreaker.... They split with the division winning Rams during the regular season but had a better record within the division. In other words, the Niners were indeed cheated out of the NFC West crown and possibly another Super Bowl victory.

I don't see how you can deny that, but then again you cling to the illusion that the Redskins earned the '83 NFC Championship too..

14. Give me a break, Sockpuppeton!
There must have been cheating in the other five games the Whiners lost that year too, huh? Pittsburgh and the Giants have won Super Bowls in the last few years starting as the #6 seed in their conference. If the '83 Whiners were capable of winning a championship, a little thing like a road playoff game shouldn't have stopped them.

19. As did just about every NFC representative in the 80s.
Severe conference imbalance was the highlight of that decade, extending into the early 90s. The NFC playoffs, and particularly the NFC Championship game, were the "real" deciding games. Your Whiners couldn't handle the tough opponents in 1983. So sorry.

20. In that '83 Championship game
Joe Montana threw 3 consecutive TD passes in the 4th quarter, bringing the 49ers back from a 21 point deficit. To say the Redskins were stunned and on their heels would be an understatement, only the subsequent interference by the officials prevented what would have been an historic comeback victory by the Niners.

If he I were a Redskin fan I would be embarrassed to claim the '83 NFC Championship...which is why you see their supporters doing their best to change the subject or avoid the topic altogether.

I would've thought that a quarter century would have been enough time to get over your team losing a ballgame. But considering the way you jokers get your panties in a wad over any perceived slight against a certain retired slugger, I'm not really surprised.

34. I wouldn't say
Gibbs cheated, he probably was completely unaware of the situation...though I'm sure he knows deep inside he didn't deserve to win that game.

The NFL figured it was to their benefit to have the Redskins in the SB that year, so they acted accordingly. It wouldn't be the first time a league, through their officials, has taken actions to ensure a "preferred" team triumphed over another in a conference championship....take for example the 2002 NBA Western Conference Finals between LA and Sacramento.

What a maroon. I mean, that's still the SECOND best ever, right?

In fact the Redskins missed four(!) field goals in the 1st half of that game, and also had a TD called back. So the Whiners should have just considered themselves lucky they didn't get buried that day.

31. The Niners should have 6 rings
...there's no excuse for what happened in the final minutes of that game, the officials literally handed the game to the Redskins. It's a stain upon NFL history and will never be forgotten by true 49er fans, we know we didn't lose that day...it was stolen from us.

And BTW, the 49er Super Bowl record is not "the SECOND best ever" it is SECOND TO NONE...the Niners are the only undefeated multiple SB winner, the top winning percentage in SB history.

BWAHAHAHA! You and Cboy really are the ultimate SPOILED BRAT FANS I doubt if anyone outside of you two even thinks twice about that game. I'm a Skins fan and I know I don't....BTW, I consider the Pittsburgh Steeler the greatest franchise in NFL history. They won in multiple eras with different coaches and players. Outside of the Montana Era the Forty-whiners only have ONE SB victory. Oh btw..The Skins won three different SB's with three different QB's a much more impressive feat if you ask me...

37. Lets see
The Redskins are 3-2 in Super Bowls, including the humiliating karmic justice defeat to the Raiders which was at that time the worst loss in SB history. Meanwhile the 49ers are 5-0 in Super Bowls, including number XXIV which remains the largest margin of victory in SB history, not to mention the most points scored.

I could go on, but I think that's enough...the numbers speak for themselves.

No shame there. And they blew it agaisnt the Raiders..But outside of that, they won all their games AS UNDERDOGS. IIRC the 49's just did what they were supposed to do, and I believe the level of talent in those SB's was actually less than what the Skins faced...
Skins wins were proof of mastery of coaching. 49ers could have won those games with Barney Fife on the sidelines.

the one in which the Cowboys defeated the Bills 52-17. Remember Leon Lett was stripped of the ball at the goal line when returning a fumble recovery....if he had scored that TD, it would be the Cowboys not the 49ers that holds the record for most points scored in a SB.

The 49ers had the last laugh...as their record of 55 points still stands and is likely to be safe for quite awhile.

It may equate to a victory but because of Letts's fumble, it doesn't equate to a breaking of a 49er held record....

41. REAL idiots don't either, apparently.
You sound like a cheap suit version of a Repub with this "real" talk. Do you also have an idea of who the REAL Americans are, like Rushbo and Bush did? Or is sports the only area where you're a fucking jackass?

landed a few yards away

The ref at the game said that Cavanaugh didn't even flinch from the snowball, or else he might have replayed the down.

The hypocritical little baby is whining in another thread about people who complain about refs calls and that's all he's done in this thread. The disconnect there would be jawdropping if we weren't talking about one of the biggest nimrods on DU. As it is, it's expected.

45. Well, you gotta admit, it's hard to have two personna's on one message board.
Occasionally wires are going to get crossed, resulting in the ensuing hilarity!!

72. Upton's idea of "apples and oranges", or, "How To Became A Hypocrite In Two Easy Steps".
"You lost - get used to it and stop whining. Man, you were complaining and blaming it on the refs..."

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=215&topic_id=90887&mesg_id=90919

"only the subsequent interference by the officials prevented what would have been an historic comeback victory by the Niners."
