2. I believe Plax will have other commitments for the next year or so
which might have contributed to this sudden parting of the ways.

3. From what I have read, he may not face any time behind bars.
Though he could be suspended by the commish.

5. Everything I heard pointed to some jail time
The most likely scenerio is pleading to a lesser charge and then roughly a year in jail. He has little to bargain with, in terms of a plea. Plus Mayor Bloomberg is making it his mission to see Plax is treated the same as drug dealers and cop killers.

6. I've seen a few things in the NY Times that pointed toward very
little time if any. I suppose if Bloomberg tries to make it high profile case he could get more time.

9. It's been tough to get a good read
although he went to court on March 31st and got an Adjournment to June 15th. That would tend to indicate that Plax is not very happy with the deal that was offered and is hoping to come up with something better (although they had since last November to accomplish that).

The delay makes it tougher for the Giants as they are left in the dark until after the draft. To make matters worse Plax has the union fighting arbitration issues with the team over a million dollars they elected not to pay him (after he shot himself in the leg).

Beyond that I have learned that Plax lead the team, in terms of fines, last season. So Coach Coughlin is clearly lessed than pleased with his attitude and the fact that he let the team down. In fact while the Giants' GM Jerry Reese has publicly stated the team would have welcomed him back (if he beat the rap) Tom Coughlin has never said the same thing or even hinted at it.

10. I would say that it was probably Coughlin's decision to cut him.
Coughlin has always been a disciplinarian and the stunts by Plaxico would certainly have put made him expendable to Coughlin. The NY Times indicated he has been the most fined by the team.

8. Jerry Jones just got morning wood learning that another
prisoner will be free to play for him.

Not that Plaxico would help Dallas or anything.

You'd need help from the Sixth Fleet for that.

12. Didn't shock me one bit.
I was a huge Plax fan but he fucked it up all on his own and became nothing more than a distraction.
