Listening to Digger Phelps and what passes for his nauseous "analysis" makes me wish the Spartans could knock yet another Big Least team senseless on behalf of the Big Ten.

North Carolina will be daunting, no doubt; they are more NBA than NCAA. Hopefully, they will show up brandishing their press clippings. Whatever. They better bring their A game. If they do, they likely win. If they don't, they are in for a surprise.

Anyway, Go Green. What a run.

1. One of my fondest memories of my UDayton days concerns Phelps.

We were playing ND at the UD Arena in early March 1980. Play got physical and a Flyer and Kelly Tripucka got into a little fracas. Phelps rushed on to the court and my buddy nailed him with a roll of toilet paper from 40 rows up. Right in the gourd. We could hear him screaming at UD coach Don Donoher about what a bush program UD was. Donoher had to be restrained. Play was halted for about ten minutes. I've hated the bastid ever since.

2. TP Digger. I love it.

Tripucka was OK as a Piston. Lots of urban legends about him.

We lost the game but if you ask any Flyer fan, they don't remember that.
