Pens vs. Caps. Pens the definite underdogs.
The Caps had our number this year.

1. They'll be a slight underdog, but this time of year no one is a definite favorite.
I'm leaning to the Pens because they have the better goalie, and it could easily be a run and gun series with the two offenses on those teams. If it were football the series would be a "pick 'em".

2. You're not trying to weasel out already are you?
What happened to "Ovechkin is a choking looooser" and "Crosby is better than Gretzky"? No faith in your team? Sounds to me like you are making excuses already and not a minute has been played.

9. You build the smack slowly.
No one is a looser until they lose a game.

At the time of the looser comment the Caps were in the process of choking to the lowly Rangers.

They did nothing special after that. The Rangers just sucked more.

The Pens are the underdogs. Lets wait until after game 1 on Saturday to start the fun. Then........

6. Coming back from 3-1 against NY reminded me of the Caps in the '90s.

It's nice to see us break the other team's heart for a change.

5. I bet it still goes at least 6 games.
I'll be pulling for my Caps to close up the series fast, but both teams just have too much skill. I have a feeling the scoring in some of the games might look like the damn All-Star game.

I still don't think anyone's beating Boston in the East though.

7. All I care about is Pittsburgh being eliminated. Your hockey
team better not disappoint me.

8. Pens in 6,
main reason is playoff experience and goaltending.

Both teams have very good offensive power. Both teams transition well. That's a wash. It comes down to a battle between Fleury and Washington's goalie (not Theodore). Fleury's been there the last couple of years and has played better each year. This is this kid's first go round.

That's the biggest difference and why I think the Pens in 6.

10. The problem for the Pens is the Caps could put the game out of reach early.
Edited on Wed Apr-29-09 09:30 AM by MrPerson
That happened during the regular season.

Fleury will have to be exceptional.

11. That goes both ways,
Washington is going in basically with a rookie goalie (see Carey Price) who could get rattled alot quicker than Fleury (compare Fleury from 2yrs ago vs. last year.)

13. Pens are not the underdogs in this one
Especially considering Washington is coming of a 7 gamer.

All in all, I say they are about even. Although I think the Pens have the edge in goal.

14. Anyone want to rethink who the better goalie is?
Looser Flurry let in soft goal after soft goal.

Caps in 6.

I would love to see the Caps go against the 'Canes in the Conference final.

15. As long as Gary Bettman is Commissioner...
the Penguins will never be underdogs.

Crosby can suck it, Ovechkin can suck it a little less. Go Caps.
