Michael Vick Officially Released by Falcons
Edited on Fri Jun-12-09 04:03 PM by BulletproofLandshark
ATLANTA (AP) -- The Atlanta Falcons have released suspended quarterback Michael Vick, opening the door for him to sign with any interested NFL team.

Vick is eligible to immediately sign with a team even though he has not been reinstated by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff said the team relinquished its contractual rights to Vick on Friday.

"Michael remains suspended by the NFL," Dimitroff said. "However, in the event NFL commissioner Roger Goodell decides to reinstate Michael, we feel his best opportunity to re-engage his football career would be at another club."

5. You really think Zorn will have a say in this??

Zorn may know that Vick would be a horrible fit (would he?), but if Snyder wants Vick, Snyder will get Vick!

9. Yeah, I wouldn't bet against that. The only question is whether he'll be able to perform
as a top-tier quarterback - even though great QBs are a bit thin on the ground right now, I'll be a bit surprised if he even rises to 'middle of the pack'...

10. He Was Never A Top Tier Quarterback
The win in Green Bay was way more because Favre isn't as good as everyone thinks. ang the GB coaching staff had a HORRIBLE game plan.

He was a competent QB who could run better than all the others. But, the best teams could scheme around that.

He's good, but not great.

11. If he weren't a mediocre passer, he might have a chance.
But he is, so I don't think he does. And this is absent any judgment on his actions or character...
