Actually, with the Miss USA brouhaha in the news, I thought this might be a good time to talk about standards of beauty and desire (among gay men specifically), gender ideals, sexism, "scholarships", body types, etc. -- in a thread that lends itself to humor and witty repartee.

Pardon my nuanced approach to the topic. Personally, I think beauty contests should have died with betamax. What do you think?
