When right wing fundies say that they are for civil unions
but not gay marriage - Do they really mean it?

Will they now work with gays to give us the same rights?

That is the question we should ask them.

2. They're lying because they know they're on the wrong side
and they're getting sick of flak from people who know where they're really coming from.

Don't buy it for a second. Given the chance, they'll vote against all of it.

5. "Given the chance, they'll vote against all of it." ... exactly ...
just like the deals that were made to get legislation through since 1/20/2009 ... as soon as the legislation is in there, the Rs vote against it, get their stuff, and scream about how the Dems are spending this country into oblivion ...

3. i THINK about a 1/3 will say they will support full govt rights that married couples get
but, of course, there will be the haters who want us dead - I mean it, dead. But, beyond them, I really think about a 1/3 is all that will really support us being given the same rights if we are a 'couple'. Now, what's funny, is that since the push for equal marriage rights is going well of late, we might have them understand it's not going to hurt them, and they just need to get over it. It's very upsetting that you cannot go out in public holding the hand of your bf or gf without someone giving you a sneer or actually saying or doing something. Times will change, but it will take decades in this country's climate of fear.

4. What about when self described liberals do the same?
Say that they are for civil unions but not equal marriage? Liberals like, say, President Obama?
