1. The "NO to Gay Marriage" tally is increasing at a rate of 6:1
So it might be a fruitless effort to attempt to overcome that.

2. In this matter, popular opinion is irrelevant
Like it or not, it was the right thing to do. I'm sure that folks in Alabama and Virginia were strongly opposed to Loving v. Virginia.

3. The results of such a poll will probably be picked up by the conservative media
as proof that the Courts are being used by the Gay Community to circumvent the Will of the People.

5. Right.
Like we've got some kind of gay mind-control device that we point at judges, but no one else.

4. Good lord, it's becoming a blow-out. These anti-gay marriage folks are truly organized
and must actively and faithfully seek out polls such as this. I think I'll tweet this poll....perhaps they are using sites like twitter to get their army to these polls.

7. Looks like the freeps and the freaks
are sitting on their mice clicking with all they've got.

In between gobs of cheetos.

Yeesh.

They just can't stand the fact that the law was the same the day after as the day before the judges' decision. The decision was to uphold the law equally and fairly.

RWers just can't stand equal and fair. Those two things are just not in their capability.

8. I just voted 3 times!
Clearly a secure and accurate polling method!

10. How did you manage that?
I went back to see if you were right* & this is what it gave me on my 2nd attempt:

"Thank you, we have already counted your vote.

Yes, I agree 27% (9954 votes)

No, I disagree 73% (26423 votes)

Total Votes: 36377"

*The only good thing I got from Raygun "Trust, but verify."

12. It would only record my vote once
It let me select the "Yes" but when I clicked on Vote there was a message that said "we have already recorded your vote".

9. Des Moines Register Poll
Just received an e-mail from my daughter. Gives me a little more perspective on the poll. I was very upset about it.

"I think it is actually kind of funny that the homophobes are apparently recruiting people to go vote no over and over again. When I looked at the same poll yesterday the results were the exact opposite. So I guess they have nothing better to do with their time. All the supporters are at weddings."

11. I twittered this poll earlier
to the gay/lesbian/lgbt/gayrights/gaymarriage hashtags and noted that several other twitterers re-twitted the posting. I think if you check now you will see a different poll result.

13. I read the following post regarding the initial swell of "NO" votes
Apparently the Iowa Christian Alliance was distributing emails to encourage folks to vote no. Here is the comment as it was posted:

Everyone should be aware that the Iowa Christian Alliance is exhorting its membership to visit the Des Moines Register website for the sole purpose of participating in this poll. I know from past experience there's a tacit understanding that membership should vote as often as they're able in an attempt to skew the result away from the overwhelming support (currently 71%) for the Varnum decision.

To wit:

The Des Moines Register is running a poll regarding homosexual marriage. This has been going since yesterday morning. Given that many of our constituents are not inclined to read the Des Moines Register closely we thought you would want to be told about this so that you have a chance to participate.

15. Seems to have been taken down already.
I didn't get any voting buttons, just the comments sections.
