Dear Friends

Bad news! After nearly 20 years of serving the community, Pink Inc will be shutting down at the end of the year. In the past year our website and phone services have been repeatedly attacked. Not wanting to compromise data we pulled the site. Last month our manufacturing plant let us know that after Dec. 31st they will no longer be able to maintain and support our fulfillment.

That was the final blow; between the economy and online bill paying and credit card payments, the volume of checks being written has slowed the past few years to the point I have been unable to find a new supplier to support our needs at a reasonable cost. In the past, we have had two suppliers bought out and closed without warning. This time we are locked into the manufacturing process and have limited options.

I want to thank you for your continued support over the years. Pink Inc started in 1991 as a grass roots effort to end "Don't Ask, Don't Tell", and I was hoping we might see a repeal before we shut down, but I'm proud of all our efforts and I believe community efforts to demonstrate the financial power of the community in the form of spending gay money helped show the country who we are and how important we are to the economy and has led to many positive changes.



Having said all that, the plant will process our orders for a few more weeks. We are trying contact as many people as possible but don’t have email addresses for everyone. If you or any friends want to place a final order, please mail orders to PINK INC, PO Box 5794, Bethesda MD 20814. We will have to receive them by Dec. 20th to allow time to print, and after that we will be forced to shut down.

2. Oh, no, Saracat...

It's not my business. We used to buy our checks from them. Personalized with 'If you take gay money but deny gay rights, you're a hypocrite' proudly emblazoned on them. Paul got the letter in his mailbox yesterday and I posted it right before I went to bed today (hence the reason I forgot to comment on it, my apologies) so that anyone who did business with them would know what happened.

hear that a business with such a great message has to close its doors after so many years!
