The next big step is getting rid of or at least toning down 125, the sodomy article. It will be used to harass gays and lesbians. Hell, it's been used to punish straights.

It's the 21st century. Ridding ourselves of gov't interference with private consensual sex is long overdue.

I know there are some here that say that the word marriage should not be used. I still struggle with that but I'm not one who believes that same sex couples should get "special" treatment. If ya'll want to have the benefits of "marriage" get married. If you have to drive to another state then do so. Then we can argue that the U.S. government should recognize our marriages, no matter where we are stationed, or what state we come from, just as they do for all other married couples. Once DOMA is gone we won't even have to argue the point. The fact is thought that unless the military recognizes civil unions or domestic partners of all types, which they do not, marriage is the only way to gain military "benefits".
